Working with the Promise Fund and Girls Build LA, we have created a team of young girls dedicated to finding solutions to problems that we identify in our community.
As a Title 1 charter school, our school focuses on 3 core values; We are STEM thinkers, we are family, and we are agents of change. This year for our Girls Build project we have decided to emphasize our core value we are agents of change and focus on the importance of civic engagement. In the past few years our community and those surrounding has been effected by several administrative decisions. The decisions that have taken place not only affect ourselves and our families today, but limit many of the opportunities for our community in the future. As future young leaders of America, we think it is important to be aware of our rights, and our strength and power as members of the United States. Our Girls Build project will focus on the need for an awareness of individual rights and opportunities for engagement and awareness in the community. |
